The crazy caterpillar

We found this crazy looking caterpillar the other day on our back patio. We were too scared to touch it because of the large stinger looking thing coming off the back! The kids were pretty impressed though. I'm just glad it found its way out of our backyard! :)

The many faces of Sophia

Sophia tends to be very shy around those she doesn't know very well. Those of us that are lucky enought to get to spend a lot of time with her get to see the real Sophia. She is so sweet, caring, girly and very funny. Sophia loves to make faces and here are just a few of her favorites. The "happy face", "mean face" and "surprised face."

Ponytails

I can finally put Sophia's hair into a ponytail!! She looks so darn cute!! Just thought I would share!!

The Joker

We love doing face paint at our house and we were fortunate to find a really good set of paints and a book to show you how to do it. Last night Marcus wanted to be the Joker so we painted his face and this is how it came out!

Fishing

The kids got Geno a fishing rod for Father's day this year. We finally had the time this weekend to take them over the Lake O'neill on base to fish. After running around for a good hour trying to get all the permits required we finally got back to the lake. Our kids however did not like the experience of fishing. Sophia screamed "SNAKES" when Geno opened the container of worms, Marcus refused to hold his fishing rod. He was afraid the fish might bite the hook and pull him in the water and neither kid would sit on the ground because they were scared of ants. So, I guess they take after the Mother and will probably never be outdoorsy! Geno was pretty bummed to say the least. Maybe we will try again another day when they aren't so tired. I don't have any pictures because I forgot my camera. There wasn't much to take pictures of though.

The 4th of July

We had a great 4th of July! We went up to my friend Elise's house. Her neighborhood was having a party. The kids had lots of fun jumping in the bounce house, throwing water balloons, getting their arm painted and shooting sparklers. Unfortunatly the fog rolled in over the ocean so we couldn't see the fireworks but we went home and watched the Macy's fireworks on t.v.
